Cappadocia Region is one of the most picturesque places in the world where nature and history have been united in a perfectly harmonious way. In Cappadocia, which means “The Land of Beautiful Horses”, a huge plateau made up of lava during the volcanic eruptions that intermittently continued for hundreds of years came into being. The region has also been valued by international organizations, and Göreme National Park located in the region was added to the UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites in 1985. Cappadocia, nowadays one of the most important tourism centers of Turkey, is visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists that come from all over the world. Cappadocia offers various activities such as international mountain bike race, world cross-country championship (Cappadocia rally), mountain and nature strolls, bicycle tourism, camping and caravan tourism, nature strolls on horse, paragliding, and travelling in hot air balloons.

Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, located in Cappadocia, where nature and history have been melted in the same pot, and which has hosted many civilizations, was founded on 17 May 2007. In our university, there are more than 20.000 students and more than 650 academic staff.
